Use case · Lectures & courses

Every lecture, searchable and captioned.

Upload a lecture or a whole course's recordings and get transcripts, chapters and captions, so students can find the part they need instead of rewatching an hour.

The problem

An hour of video is hard to study from.

Students review by scrubbing through recordings looking for one explanation. Students who are deaf or hard of hearing need captions to use them at all.

Captioning and transcribing a semester of lectures by hand isn't realistic for one instructor.

How it works

Three steps from recording to text.

01
Add the recordings
Upload files or connect a Dropbox folder so each new lecture is picked up as it lands (paid plans).
02
We transcribe and segment them
A timestamped transcript of every lecture, with automatically generated titled chapters.
03
Publish with your course
Add captions to the videos and share transcripts and chapters in your course site.
What you get

From one recording.

Transcript
Searchable, timestamped text of the whole lecture. Included on every plan, including Free.
Chapters
Automatically generated titled sections, so students can jump straight to an explanation.
Captions
SRT and VTT caption files for your video platform.
Translation
Transcripts in another language for international students (every plan, +1 credit per minute).
FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does it work with slides and screen recordings?

Transcription works from the audio track of any video. Speech is what gets transcribed; on-screen text is not read in a standard run.

Can a department use it?

Yes. Team plans include multiple seats and more sources. Contact us for larger volumes.

Can I try it first?

Yes. A free account includes 5 credits (about 5 minutes of audio), and the free YouTube analyzer previews the first two minutes of a video up to 10 minutes long, no account needed.

Try it on one lecture.
Create a free account and run a short clip, or preview a public video with the free analyzer.
